I'm really enjoying being back in the running routine. I've been beating the winter sludge and mud by getting out in the dark and hail and remembering how happy running makes me.
Although, this morning, it was quite sunny and beautiful, so we went for a run with the Harry Potter wands, round the local woods and fields. The eldest seemed to think he was too grown up to play with spells. I tried to oblige but supposedly I wasn't up to much. I wasn't falling on the floor in the right places.
The end of December and start of January were plagued with colds, coughs and lurgies that took a while to shift. This impacted on running, and walking with the boys and made the dark days more depressing than normal.
I'm slowly getting back to it and had a lovely run with Jo today. A few weeks of lethargy made me appreciate my surroundings even more than usual.
