Other Side of the Valley

It was a beautiful morning. Very icy and cold, but bright and sunny.

And luckily, it was also Friday

Jo was away, doing more exciting things with her husband, so Sam and I ran right up to the top of the clough,

and looked at the green valley in the sunshine.

Groundhog Day

Some places are always great, how ever many times you visit them and which ever direction you approach them from.

Although, the company you keep does make the difference.

Friday

After running around in the dark all week it was nice to get out in the daylight. It was a stunning morning. Mist in the valley and sun on top.

Like fish.

My swimming buddy is recovering from a big op, so we haven't done any swimming for ages.

We were going to go last night but went to the pub instead for some Pinnacle Mild.

Running

Since September I've been a bit more consistent with my training. Now the night races have started, which are great because no one can watch you make a fool of your self.

I ran up Pendle hill on Wedndsday. There was no slow people so after 100 yards I was by myself, with the newish moon, stars and lights of Burnley for company. It was great.

Today was a slightly frosty to begin with but the sun was out, calling me from under my duvet.

I texted Jo but she was still in bed so set off alone over the boggy fields.

I'm enjoying the soft mushy ground after the dry hard soil of the summer.

I'd been helping with the scout/cub gang show on Fri/Sat night (E's first time), so I was tired as I ran up to the pinnacles.

Still, it was nice to exchange the images of teenage boys in drag, for some green fields and cloudy skies. Always nice to get out for a run.
