Burnsall, the Classic

This is a race I've heard about for years. You know the type that everyone says is good but you don't really pay attention.

It's not just good. It is fantastic. The history, the great atmosphere of the sports day, the crowds that cheer, the gun that starts you off.

It is exciting before you start and then a total blast up the steep steep hill to the flag and a stumble back down the sheer rocky path, down down to the village. where you have to run back through the crowds again and then smile because you've had so much fun.

The Grouse

Ran from The Grouse. A large turn out of runners and more scenic views of purple heathery moors. A nice view at the end too.

Last night was the latest duathlon. The quality of the flip isn't great but the film does capture the essence of the evening.

Just spent a brilliant hen weekend in a yurt in Grisedale Forest. The trip included a visit to Go Ape, which was incredibly scary.

The sun shone and the cows didn't chase us.

These are the hills I can run to from my door. How fantastic! Why don't I run more?
